Summer at
Busy Hands Montessori
Led by Montessori-trained guides, our summer camps offer children the opportunity to continue learning in a relaxed, engaging environment that honors independence, curiosity, and joyful discovery.
Summer 2026 Camps:
- Track & Field ($480) June 15-June 18, 2026
- The first week of summer will be some fun in the sun! Students will compete in running races, long jump, high jump, javelin throwing, and more during this fun week centered on sports. Children will also learn about sportsmanship and what it means to collaborate as a team during this week.
- Gardening ($520) June 22-June 26, 2026
- We will start off the summer by making an impact on our outdoor spaces. The students will create a landscape design, plan a walking path, choose flowers & shrubs, and work together to bring their ideas to life. Lessons on botany, native plants, and how to care for a garden will be part of this fun week. This week will also include learning about pollinators - you can’t have a healthy garden without them! We will have a visit from a local beekeeper as part of our studies.
- Classical & Fine Art ($520) July 13-July 17, 2026
- This week will be an exploration of modern, classical, and impressionist artists through our interpretation of their most famous works. We will be learning about the different techniques used to create some of the most recognized art by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Mary Cassat, and many more! The students will be working with different mediums and tools to create their own masterpieces. We will be holding a student art show on Friday, June 26th.
- Food Science & Cooking ($585) July 20-July 24, 2026
- What does yeast eat? How does it make bread rise? Why does salt help ice cream freeze? The science behind everyday foods is fascinating and produces delicious results! We will be turning our classrooms into test kitchens this week as we explore a variety of foods through baking, freezing, mixing, and melting. This week includes a cooking class with parents on Friday, July 24.
- Reptiles & Amphibians ($585) July 27-July 31, 2026
- Which lizard can go months without food or water? Which one has hundreds of tiny suction cups on its feet? We will find out the answers to these questions and more during our exciting study of Reptiles & Amphibians. We will have a visit from a reptile and amphibians expert this week to bring our studies to life!
- Mad Scientists ($520) August 3-August 7, 2026
- This week will be filled with fun, messy, and explosive science experiments! Elephant toothpaste, magnetic slime, drippy oobleck, are a few of the hands-on science experiments that the students will participate in. Each day will include a new “Observation Station” for them to observe and explore different science concepts.
- 3,2,1 Blast Off ($585) August 10-August 14, 2026
- Space exploration, astronauts, and the night sky will be part of our space studies this week. The students will learn about celestial navigation, planets and visible stars, the history of the space program, and will fly their very own space mission. We will be welcoming OMSI’s Mobile Planetarium for a visit this week.
- Modern Art ($520) August 17-August 21, 2026
- Kehinde Wiley, Jean-Michelle Basquiat, Andy Warhol, and Banksy will be just a few of the Modern Artists that we study this week. This week will be an exploration of what makes modern art different, and the same, as classical and fine art. The students will be working with different mediums and tools to create their own masterpieces. We will be holding a student art show on Friday, August 21st.
Why choose a Montessori summer? Summer is not just a break —
it's an opportunity!
